Sonoma Nail Art Tallulah Swatches and Review

As a finishing touch to my wonderful Tom Ford Bitter Bitch and Chanel Vamp nail lacquers swatches, I decided to use Sonoma Nail Art Tallulah - a Sonoma Nail Art Exclusive sold ONLY in Tallulah Boutique in Healdsburg, California.

Looove Sonoma Nail Art Tallulah as toppings for Tom Ford Bitter Bitch and Chanel Vamp!  The stunning pink, gold and green glitters pop big time... and Tallulah applies like a dream!  Effortless and smooth....  no dragging of glitters to spread it evenly :)

I can't decide which is better with Tallulah.  Is it the darker Tom Ford Bitter Bitch or is it the burgundish Chanel Vamp?  To me, Tallulah looks gorgeous with both polishes :)  Win-win!!

Tom Ford Bitter Bitch Nail Lacquer.. with Chanel Vamp comparison

I admit.  I am a sucker for high end - premium brands.  I love Chanel handbags.  I own a bunch of Prada shoes.  I love the fit of Ernest Sewn, Evisu and 7 all for mankind jeans.  I use one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, cosmetics make up brands Cle De Peau -  foundation, concealer, eyeshadows, etc.  So it's not surprising that I am also drawn to the high price tags of Tom Ford nail lacquers, Le Metier de Beaute nail lacquers, YSL, Chanel and Dior nail lacquers.

Today I am using Tom Ford nail lacquer in #04 called Bitter Bitch.  Don't you just love the name? Hahaha!! At $30 for a 12ml bottle, it is priced a little higher than Chanel and Dior polishes.

Isn't it gorgeous?  Dark and decadent.  Perfect for fall. :)

It isn't black.  It isn't purple.  It really is a unique color :)

I wonder how Tom Ford Bitter Bitch compares to Chanel's vamp so I decide to do a swatch of both (please excuse the dents on my nails as Vamp was taking a looong time to dry, ugh )

I also did 3 coats of Chanel Vamp.

As you can see, they are not dupes.  Bitter Bitch is darker while Vamp is more reddish burgundish in color.

Both are gorgeous and perfect for fall :)

Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes (Early Halloween Resurrected Collection)

I have been very firm with my resolve to start using the nail polishes I have been purchasing the past few months. Today I have for you Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes from her most recent collection Early Halloween Resurrected - a collection of 14 polishes, some new and some are improved versions of her previous creations.

Lynnderella describes The Stars in Her Eyes as:
The Stars in Her Eyes.... are pentagrams. Large and very tiny (and oh so adorable) holographic stars with intense gray and black holographic hexagons in a clear base.

Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes over A-England Princess Sabra

I guess I wasn't that lucky enough to draw any of the large holographic stars :)
It doesn't matter, I love this particular polish.  It's a nice break from the usual multi coloured glitterbombs I have been seeing all over the past few weeks.

And more pics..... Enjoy!!

Totally love this!! :)

Lynnderella Golden Rules

And then I blogged….. yay!  :)

My love affair with indie nail polishes all began when I read reviews and saw swatches of Lynnderellas from nail polish blogs a few months ago.  Oh, Lynnderella – the queen of glitterbombs nail polishes.  The most controversial indie nail polish maker, the story of which I am not going to even talk about since the internet has that all covered. I love how she separated herself from the pack with her recognizable brand - a simple, round white label which she writes the name of her polishes by hand.  Genius!   One look and you know that it’s a Lynn, as what they’re fondly called.

Today I have for you Golden Rules from her 2012 Summer Collection called Sweet Somethings for a Summer Solstice Collection. Golden Rules is not for the faint of heart for it is screaming bling bling and more bling!  I can totally see Serena Williams rocking this at a WTA tennis tournament for this all about glam!

This is 1 coat of Golden Rules using the dabbing technique application over 2 coats of American Apparel California Trooper.   Enjoy!

See how blingy it is?!  Golden Rules is packed with tons of gold glitters, hexes, bars and stars!!  Totally Love!!! :)

Better late than never

My friends have been telling me to have a blog since they know how I love my cosmetics, makeup, nail polishes, skin products, hair stuff, etc. but since I was a busygirl back then, I didn't even think about having one.  However, things have changed - there were major changes in my life, got laid off and had a change in career, a change in romantic relationship arrangement to name a few,  but there's one thing that hasn't changed - my passion for cosmetics.  I still find myself looking at makeup collection launches, checking reviews and swatches and getting some.  I also have a more burning desire for a. nail polishes, especially the Indie frankens stuff and b. nylons in particular, leggings.  Thus, the title of my blogspot, lacquerandnylons.

I hope to share with you stuff that I have, show swatches of products, perhaps make a review of some product/s that get my attention and interest.  I hope you enjoy reading them the same way I enjoy doing them. :)

Here is a pic of what you would typically see in my apartment these days.  Nail polishes... and lots of them :)
